the tomboy.

i have me a new model muse, a Ukranian model named Darya Kurovska, who is featured in the last editorial i posted up. i think i'm drawn to her boyish look, that and she reminds me of singer Jojo in some shots. here are some candid polaroid collages of her. i also used these images for my 9 head model sketches title page which i've posted up earlier.

the beat goes on.

i never thought his death would sadden me this much. it has actually impacted me more than when Aaliyah died - and she's my most favourite singer of all time. doesn't he look so happy in these pictures?...

here's my assignment for our business class. we had to make moodboards for four stores with different demographics. the womenswear had an 'ethnic' theme, while the mens was 'military' inspired. doing this assignment lead me to find different sources for materials other than good ole Spotlight, also i'm now inspired by the Tibetan nomad culture as well as the Peurvian.

i'm playing MJ all day long...

a sad, sad day...

i would like there to be a post about the influential 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson in my blog so that i'll be reminded of the sad and surreal feeling i have had all day, when i look back at it in years to come. my 'MJ' moment occured in 1996 when half of our grade did a dance to 'Thriller' at our year 6 farewell dinner, and what a memory it was! aside from his huge impact on the music industry, he's signature style has been weaving in and out of the catwalk for years. however you remember him by, may his memory live on...

our red carpet experience.

i can't believe they actually posted this pic up on their Facebook page, i'm still laughing about it! this was taken at the MCA for the FACE fashion runway show. on the left is my talented friend Alexis, and on the other side of me is my other talented friend Quenna who edited alot of the shows from this years RAFW. i'm not sure if my photographer friends Victoria and Julie were the ones who took this pic, but they were behind one of the many camera lenses at the show!

for the love of art.

remember those cute drawings of girls in one of my photo shoots for the S/S08 collection? well now they're available to the public to buy. my wonderful friend Alexis has an extensive background in graphic design and illustration. her goal is to become a children's book author/illustrator, and that she will be! check her art out here.

the art of design.

so our assignment on folds is finally done and over with. although our overall presentation looked awesomely cool, i'm not sure that the teacher liked it as much. hmmm. but here's my half of the assignment anyway.

window shopping.

so i spent my day off re-decorating my studio, now that i finally have my white Ikea shelf. and i finally put my visual merchandising skills to use. and for a moment, i kinda missed it... but i really miss my old vm class and teachers. here are some window installations and projects from 2 years ago.

folded fashion.

our fabric study on folds has led me to finding some of the coolest pieces i've ever seen. architecture + paper + origami is an awesome recipe for creating crazy couture garments. the things people come up with... amazes my curious little mind!
